How a Verkada Camera Becomes Hazardous-Area Legal
Verkada does not manufacture explosion-proof cameras — the path to deploying one in a Class I Division 1/2 location (per Articles 500–506 of NFPA 70 (the National Electrical Code)) is a certified third-party housing. 2M’s 316L stainless enclosures are engineered to the UL 1203 standard from UL and the international IECEx/ATEX zone schemes, sized to the exact Verkada model’s optics, IR, and thermals so the camera keeps its full field of view and cloud features inside the rated enclosure.
