2MEXH-1612 Explosion-Proof Camera Housing for Dome & Turret Cameras
This explosion-proof housing is engineered to safely enclose dome and turret surveillance cameras in high-risk environments where flammable gases or vapors may be present. Designed for use in Class I, Division 1 and Zone 1 hazardous areas, it ensures reliable camera operation in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, marine, and mining.
Constructed from durable 304 stainless steel, with an optional upgrade to 316L stainless steel for enhanced corrosion resistance, this rugged enclosure provides long-term protection in both indoor and outdoor installations. The housing features an Ex d IIC T6 Gb explosion-proof rating and is sealed to IP68 / NEMA-6P standards, offering complete protection against dust, moisture, and prolonged water immersion.
With a wide operating temperature range of -45°C to 60°C (-49°F to 140°F), it is built to perform in extreme conditions—from arctic cold to desert heat.
Certifications Behind This Housing
This dome housing is engineered to the standards that legally define “explosion proof”: UL 1203 from UL for explosion-proof electrical equipment, NEC Articles 500-506 hazardous-location classification per NFPA 70 (Class I Division 1/2 gas atmospheres, Class II dusts), and the international IECEx and ATEX zone systems. The 316L stainless body contains an internal ignition rather than preventing one – the flame path cools escaping gases below the ignition point of the surrounding atmosphere, which is what certification testing actually validates.
