Features
Underground coal mining presents some of the most challenging and volatile environments on earth, particularly due to the presence of explosive methane gas and coal dust. The 2MEBS04-IP2MZ explosion-proof mining bullet camera by 2M Technology is engineered specifically to operate safely in these hazardous conditions without acting as an ignition source. Designed for areas devoid of insulation-breaking corrosive gases, this rugged camera delivers high-definition surveillance to enhance operational awareness and worker safety.
Certified Mining Safety and Rugged Build
Safety compliance is the top priority for underground equipment. This explosion-proof mining bullet camera carries an Ex d I Mb explosion-proof marking and holds the MA Certificate No. CCCMT15.0384. To withstand the physical demands of mining shafts, the explosion-proof bullet camera housing is constructed from heavy-duty 304 or 316L stainless steel and features a strong tempered glass window.
The enclosure is fully IP68 rated, guaranteeing complete protection against dust ingress and the ability to withstand continuous water submersion. Organizations dedicated to underground safety, such as the CDC’s NIOSH Mining division, emphasize the necessity of such robust, spark-free hardware in volatile extraction environments.
High-Definition Optics and Motorized Zoom
Visibility underground is inherently poor, making advanced optics critical. The explosion-proof mining bullet camera utilizes a 1/2.7″ Progressive Scan CMOS sensor to capture clear 2.0 Megapixel (1920×1080) video at up to 30 frames per second. To allow operators to easily adjust their field of view remotely, the unit is equipped with a 2.8-12 mm motorized varifocal lens.
To overcome total darkness, the explosion-proof mining bullet camera features an advanced auxiliary lighting system designed for up to 60 meters of night vision. Furthermore, the specialized illumination system can project both white light and IR light up to distances of 60 meters (196.85 feet). Digital Wide Dynamic Range (DWDR) and 2D/3D Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) work together to ensure the footage remains crisp and free of visual artifacts.
Flexible Connectivity and Environmental Adaptability
This explosion-proof mining bullet camera integrates seamlessly into modern IP networks. It supports multiple video compression standards, including Ultra 265, H.265, H.264, and MJPEG, to optimize network bandwidth. It offers broad compatibility with third-party video management systems via ONVIF (Profile S, Profile G, Profile T) and API integration.
For facilities requiring long-distance data transmission, optional single-mode or multi-mode fiber optical communications are available. The unit operates on an AC 127V voltage input and functions reliably in atmospheric pressures ranging from 80 to 106 KPa and temperatures between 0°C and 40°C (32°F to 104°F).
