Features
Underground coal mining involves operating in some of the most restricted and hazardous environments imaginable. To maintain security and operational oversight where explosive methane and coal dust are present, standard surveillance equipment is simply not an option. The 2MEP04-IP4M4X explosion-proof mini PTZ dome camera by 2M Technology is engineered for these exact conditions. It provides high-definition rotation surveillance while ensuring its internal electronics will not ignite the surrounding atmosphere.
Certified Safety for Coal Mining
Safety and compliance are paramount in subterranean extraction. This explosion-proof mini PTZ carries an Ex ib I Mb explosion-proof marking and holds the MA Certificate No. CCCMT21.0425. This guarantees the hardware is certified for use in coal mining environments where there is an explosive mixture of methane and coal dust, provided there is no corrosive gas present that could break the insulation.
The housing is constructed from heavy-duty 304 or 316L stainless steel, protecting it from physical impacts and the general harshness of the mineshaft. It is fully IP68 rated, meaning it is completely dust-tight and can survive continuous submersion in water as defined by international IEC ingress protection standards.
High-Definition Surveillance and Audio Integration
Navigating tight, poorly lit tunnels requires adaptable optics. This explosion-proof mini PTZ camera features a 1/2.8″ Progressive Scan CMOS sensor that captures highly detailed 4MP (2560×1440) video. The 2.8-12 mm lens provides a 4x optical zoom and a 16x digital zoom, giving operators the flexibility to view a wide 97-degree angle or zoom in for a tight 32-degree view.
To overcome total darkness, the explosion-proof mini PTZ camera is equipped with auxiliary infrared (IR) lights that provide a night vision range of up to 20 meters (65.6 feet). A 120 dB Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) and 3D Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) ensure the footage remains clear even in highly contrasted lighting. Additionally, the unit features an integrated audio function that supports both sound pickup and audio output, enabling two-way communication or environmental noise monitoring.
Dynamic PTZ Tracking and Network Integration
Operators can easily scan their environment using the explosion-proof mini PTZ camera’s dynamic PTZ controls. It offers a 0 to 355-degree pan angle and a 0 to 90-degree tilt angle. For automated sweeps, you can configure up to 300 presets, 3D positioning, and timed tasks.
Integrating the explosion-proof PTZ camera into your existing security network is seamless. It supports H.265, H.264, and MJPEG video compression and is fully compliant with ONVIF integration standards, specifically Profile S, Profile G, and Profile T. The system operates on a DC 12V power supply with a maximum consumption of 11.2 W.
