Network Video Recorder Models — 4 to 32 Channels

2M Technology’s NVR lineup covers every scale from a 4-camera small business installation to a 32-camera enterprise system. All models support H.265 or Ultra 265 compression for maximum storage efficiency:

Channel Count Series PoE Ports SATA Bays Max Resolution Best Application
4-ch NVR 6000 / 8000 / 9000 4 1 4K Small offices, retail, residential
8-ch NVR 6000 / 8000 8 1–2 4K Small-medium businesses, warehouses
16-ch NVR 8000 / 8400 8–16 2 4K Schools, factories, parking structures
32-ch NVR 8200 / 8400 16 2–4 4K PRO Enterprise campuses, government facilities

PoE NVR vs. Standard NVR

All 2M Technology network video recorders include built-in PoE (Power over Ethernet) ports. This means each IP camera receives both power and data through a single Cat5e/Cat6 cable — no separate power supply per camera, no additional PoE switch required:

  • Built-in PoE NVR — Camera connects directly to NVR. Simpler wiring, lower cost. Maximum cable run: 100m per camera.
  • Non-PoE NVR + PoE switch — NVR connects to a PoE switch on the network. More flexible for distributed camera layouts. Required for cameras more than 100m from the NVR.

Network Video Recorder Storage Sizing

At 1080p, 15fps, H.265 compression, one IP camera uses approximately 20GB per day. Ultra 265 (available on 2MN-6000 series) reduces this by up to 30% over standard H.265:

  • 4-channel NVR — ~80GB/day. 2TB SATA drive = ~25 days retention.
  • 8-channel NVR — ~160GB/day. 4TB = ~25 days; 8TB = ~50 days.
  • 16-channel NVR — ~320GB/day. Dual 4TB (8TB) = ~25 days retention.
  • 32-channel NVR — ~640GB/day. Dual 8TB (16TB) = ~25 days; 4×8TB = ~50 days.

NVR Applications
